michigan.jpgThe match ups and seeding for the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament has been released and our very own Lady Lions (currently on a 10 game losing streak) is the 10th seed. This is out of a conference with 11 teams so basically if it wasn’t for Northwestern, we would be the worst team in the league. How did this Lady Lion team even beat Duke early in the season?! But things look bleak. As the 10th seed, Penn State gets to face Michigan (#7 seed) at noon on March 6th.

The reward of winning this #10 /#7 match up? A date with #2 seed Iowa.

There’s still some reason for optimism. In the only match up between the Lady Lions and the Wolverines, Penn State emerged victorious in a 68-57 win.
The Hawkeyes handed the Lions two of their multiple losses this year so that matchup (should they advance to the second round) should be alot tougher.
