kohl-rushing.jpgThere was optimism at the bar last night that Penn State has a slim chance, but a chance nonetheless of upsetting the Badgers. Unfortunately what they faced was a much bigger, more talented and better coached Badger team. On senior day in front of a packed 17,190 Kohl Center, Penn State simply never stood a chance. Along with their horrible execution; once again Penn State was one and done on offense and resorted to trying to stop the big guys from dominating in the paint on the other end of the court, they might as well stayed home and rested for Indiana. But size wise it was no contest as the Badgers shot a blistering 52.7% (29-55) from the field. What was even more amazing was their ability to limit Penn State to 29.6% (16-54) shooting.

Field Goals made 16 29
shot 54 55
percent 29.6 52.7
Free Throws made 3 11
shot 4 15
percent 75.0 73.3
3-pointers made 6 8
shot 25 18
percent 24.0 44.4

It was sort of interesting to watch another teams’ fans rush the court after beating the Lions though. Needless to say by the second half when the Badgers had doubled the Lion’s 17 points, most of the people at the bar lost interest. This Badger team as long as they continue to execute their punishing defense and efficiency on offense, they will be making waves in the tournament. Most critics have written off the Big Ten as a weak league this year, but watch out for Wisconsin, Purdue and even Michigan State. College Basketball Stats by StatSheet.com
