4-star DE Sean Stanley verbals to Lions

Move aside, Virginia, Maryland and Virginia Tech, the state of Maryland belongs to the Nittany Lions. Any doubt concerning Larry Johnson Sr.’s recruiting abilities can officially be put to bed now.

Rival’s 11-overall ranked defensive end, 4 star recruit out of Gaithersburg, Maryland verballed to assistant coach Larry Johnson Sr. this morning, making him the 10th verbal to the Lions for 2009. This 6’2, 250 lbs recruit held offers from Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Nebraska, and Maryland among others.

Rivals.com reports:

Stanley’s head football coach at Gaithersburg, Kreg Kephart, said that the Nittany Lions recruited Stanley as a defensive end and Kephart said that he particularly likes Stanley at the five-technique or weakside defensive end position.
