Penn State: Where 3-16 Is Celebrated

As Professor Farnsworth might say, “Good news, everyone.”
And just as in Futurama, this is of course followed by a horrible, terrible announcement.  Namely, that Ed DeChellis has, avoided the chopping block.  Kudos to David Jones on the scoop:

Camp Randall does not hold a candle to Beaver Stadium

Submitted by Charlie on October 4, 2008 – View Comments

If anyone tries to tell me that the atmosphere at Camp Randall rivals Penn State’s and their White Outs, I will smack them over the head with a bedpan. Watching the game now, the place is silent except on third downs or big offensive plays.

I’m sure Badger fans will use the missing band as an excuse. Give Me A Break. Camp Randall’s fans can’t even perform to a national audience. I am acutally more convinced now Penn State will have less problems with crowd noise at Camp Randall next weekend than at the Shoe.

Oh, god. Let's not jinx ourselves. Winning at Camp Randall hasn't exactly been easy in the past few years. I'm not counting any chickens next week.

    Go State!
  • I don't see how the band's presence will get people off their feet and roar on defense. The band is only so many people and the fight songs they play have to stop before the play is snapped. On TV there was barely noise during the broadcast prior to Ohio State's snaps except on third downs.

Unless every member of the Wisconsin band uses airhorns on defense, I doubt they would have made much of a difference.
  • I agree. We held a poll recently and our readers voted Beaver the toughest road trip in the B10.

But to be fair, tonight's game wasn't exactly the best to evaluate Camp Randall. What with the band being suspended and all.
