If there was one game that could potential burst any team’s bubble it was this one.

A Talor Battle hustle in the final minute of the game averted what could be a complete disaster for a team that faced the odds head on and proved their critics wrong.

15,035 fans roared with approval as Penn State accomplished its first Hoosier sweep in program history. It’s just a shame that it took this long for the fans to realize the magic surrounding this season’s team. Who knows when we will achieve a 20 win mark again with the loss of key senior leadership following the season. With the final home game remaining (unless Penn State gets snubbed on Selection Sunday) against ranked Illinois, I really hope we are able to sell out Bryce Jordan Center. These kids are magical, sure they might not be a Final Four team, but they have defied long odds to set a foundation for the Lions basketball program. They deserve nothing but a roaring sellout crowd for their final home game.

Win or lose that final home game, Cornley, Pringle and their other fellow seniors deserve nothing but a standing ovation for sticking it out with this program. The same program that sat amongst the bottom of the Big Ten as recently as a few years ago. The same program that suffered a high attrition rate with players jumping ship at the first sign of trouble. And the very same program that has the impossible job of competing under the shadow of Beaver Stadium.

Penn State might be a football school. But it is a football school just itching for something to celebrate when it comes to its basketball program. 15,035 fans is proof of just that.

So cancel your plans and call a babysitter this Thursday. #20 Illinois comes marching into town and a win over the Illini will definately help the Lions come Selection Sunday.  On ESPN in prime time, lets hear Bryce Jordan Center roar once again. Lets hear it for the senior players who continues to fight even with the knowledge that a large NBA payday isn’t on the immediate horizon.

Let’s hear it for Jamelle Cornely, Stanley Pringle, Will Leiner and Danny Morrissey.

Thanks for getting a post-game up on this Charlie. I was unable to watch the game due to prior commitments (no, not State Patty’s Day)
