Penn State Falls in Quarterfinals to Purdue

Penn State 35 30 65
Purdue 51 28 79

As you probably know, I live in New York, and don’t get the Big Ten Network.  All my streams were incredibly choppy, so I just ended up listening to an internet stream.

I know, I probably didn’t have a great vantage point, but it sounded like Purdue was just on fire.  Looking at the stats, it just seems ridiculous for a team to shoot 12 for 22 from downtown, no matter how the defense is.

Jamelle Cornley was probably the only Nittany Lion who showed up, outside of Stanley Pringle, who went away after the first few minutes.  Mel finished with another 20 points and 8 rebounds, five on the offensive glass.

In a game like this, you’ve just got to tip your cap to Purdue.  There isn’t anything we could’ve done differently to prevent the loss.  Maybe we could’ve made it closer, but they were just clicking on all cylinders tonight.

I have a post that should go up tomorrow analyzing the field of 65 and the last few bubble spots.  Let me say this now: the sky is far from falling.
