Tennessee blew it BIG TIME against Mississippi State allowing them to sneak away an undeserved at-large bid to the dance. There is a rule allowing regular conference champions that didn’t make the dance to be automatically selected to the NIT, but there is no such rule for tournament champions. In other words, there should be as in USC’s and Mississippi State’s case.
