Call me crude, but this is basically what we’re down to.  With Rocky Top laying an egg, after Arizona State, Xavier, and Butler had done earlier this week, it’s down to one real “at-large spot.”

It’s Penn State, Creighton, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, Arizona, and Florida going for that last spot, and even I, the eternal optimist, won’t lie.  It’s going to be tough.  But hey, there are usually some headshakers every year.  Would anyone be truly shocked if Texas A&M was out?  If Dayton was stuck in the NIT?  Would anyone complain that Penn State made it?  And hey, maybe its a good omen that they’ll be cutting to the team live on CBS.  I don’t think they want to switch to Jamelle Cornley picking up Tim Curley and throwing him out the BJC window.

Remember, the liveblog starts in an hour, at 5:40, with the Selection Show starting at 6.  A Purdue win might help us a little, at least we would’ve lost to the Big Ten champion.
