Penn State players out Wonderlics the competition

Remember Vince Young’s embarrassing Wonderlic score of 6? That’s 6 out of a possible 50 by the way. People just shrugged it off and lashed back at the Wonderlic for being pointless when it comes to evaluating the mental capabilities of players.

Then, in a Wonderlic “I told you so”, lo and behold Vince went off the deep end.

No, I’m not really saying the Wonderlic can predict mental health or is even effective as a tool evaluating the decision making skills of a player, but it sure can’t hurt to do well when it comes to the test.

The scores for this year’s Wonderlic test has been released and Penn State players have outperformed the competition.

AQ Shipley* 40
G Cadogan 26
A Maybin 25
J Norwood 22
M Evans 21
D Williams 19
D Butler 19

*(AQ Shipley’s 40 is the 2nd highest score of anyone at the entire Combine)

Compared to the scores of McCoy, Harvin and Maualuga, whose scores are a tad low methinks.

LeSean McCoy (Pitt) 11
Percy Harvin (Florida) 12
Rey Maualuga (USC) 15
Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech) 15
Louis Delmas (Western Michigan) 12
Matt Stafford (Georgia) 38
Mark Sanchez (USC) 28

A score of 10 would indicate a player is at least literate. Don’t believe me? Try it yourself and see if you can’t at least score a 10.

Let’s just hope McCoy, Harvin or Delmas can decipher something other than their own names when they sign their contracts.

Then there is our very own rouge Rambo:

Chris Baker
(Hampton via PSU)
11

There’s simply no comparison to the “student” part of student-athlete when it comes to Penn State. To all those prospects out there, if you really want to leave with a good head on your shoulders in addition to playing football in the NFL, there’s no question where you should be playing.

Uhh Vince Young got a 16, it was misreported... DUMBASS
  • Uhh no, he got a 6 the first time he took the test. He might have retaken it, but with that score I would have too. I linked to sources, where's yours?

Louis Delmas is not from the University of Michigan. He's from Western Michigan University. What did you score on your Wonderlic??
