TOFiM Trophy Week 2

Submitted by Charlie on May 16, 2009 – View Comments

Week 2 of our latest ongoing series.

1

Greg Paulus

Culprits: Syracuse
Past Appearances: 0
Once again I ask. Why is this an issue? Greg will basically amount to a first year freshman starter for Syracuse except with the added disadvantage of NOT having played for 4 years. It was one thing when Michigan, tradition college football pooba, showed actual interest for the kid only increasing the desperation of that once proud program, but now that Paulus is going to Syracuse. Who cares?

2

Notre Dame Grads

Culprit: Loving the smell of their farts
Past Appearances: 1
Oh great Notre Dame grads on your moral pedestal, way to emulate the arrogance of your head football coach. It’s one thing to disagree with your honorary speaker, it’s another to take it to a WHOLE ‘NOTHER LEVEL.I don’t agree with the foul cologne that my gardener wears, and I absolutely despise the fact that he overuses it, but you don’t see me getting all bent out of shape about it.

I’m sure grads like you will enjoy the boycott of your own graduation when you look back in 50 years. Obama graduated from Harvard Law, what makes you think he even cares about that honorary degree from Notre Dame to begin with?

Won’t it send a bigger message by attending and doing this instead?

…well unless you realize that you and 3 of your closest friends are the only people who were offended to begin with.

And I thought kids from Notre Dame were supposed to be smart.

3

Urban Meyer

Culprits: God Complex
Past Appearances: 0
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4MVEUYCC_qI/Rnu83cTYc3I/AAAAAAAAAhE/1T9tMMgNDnQ/s320/respect_my_authority-774051.jpgDO NOT QUESTION URBAN MEYER! EVER!

Never mind that Meyer’s roots to Gator Nation only runs as deep as the annual paycheck he receives and that he used to be the head coach of Utah before this. But if you question his play calling even after an unexpected loss to Mississippi like Shane Matthews did, you are not a Gator.

Wait, Shane Matthews actually played for the U of Florida and Urban Meyer has roots at Ohio State, Bowling Green and Utah. Yeah, that sounds about right.

4

USC

Culprits: USC, Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo
Past Appearances: 0
You’re telling me the journalists at Yahoo! Sports and ESPN can uncover the deep seeded truth about USC better than the NCAA?

Not only have Yahoo! Sports detailed the agents, recruits, and the beneficiaries in both cases, they have even provided proof in telephone records, bank statements, and even interviews with those involved. The NCAA had to only click print and actually read the articles, but it’s now 4 years and counting and the hammer doesn’t seem to be falling anytime soon on the newest poster child for the NCAA.

I would put my money on the “insufficient lack of evidence” excuse concerning the accusation of the lack of institution control at USC. Way to go NCAA, show them who’s boss.

5

Ohio State

Culprit: ESPN
Past Appearances: 0
Some Buckeye fan decided to commemorate the 2,000 day milestone since Michigan last beat them by erecting a billboard in Michigan.

It might be the hangover from last season, or just the utter acceptance of inferiority, but Michigan fans simply sat back and took it like a red headed stepchild.

But I mean common. Making fun of Michigan is so easy now, its not even cool anymore. It’s like if Penn State fans erected a billboard in Philly to laugh at Temple for never beating us. Both teams are so bad, there’s just no fun in it anymore.

So for your viewing pleasure once again.

This series will run every Friday until the last week of August. Got a hot story, picture, link or video you’d like to share feel free to do so anonymously in the comments, or email us at nittanywhiteout@gmail.com.
