Penn State: Where 3-16 Is Celebrated

As Professor Farnsworth might say, “Good news, everyone.”
And just as in Futurama, this is of course followed by a horrible, terrible announcement.  Namely, that Ed DeChellis has, avoided the chopping block.  Kudos to David Jones on the scoop:
“Yes, Ed will continue to be our head …

I swear it never happened

Apparently Notre Dame aren’t the only ones trying to bury their dirty secrets in a pile of statistics.

The Golden Gophers tried to do the same by omitting their season ending 55-0 loss to Iowa under the 2008 season, listing scores for 12 of their 13 games.

Do Gopher fans really want to forget their final shellacking in the Metrodome? I’m sure these two do. But 6 first downs and 9 punts is one way of ending Minnesota’s relationship with one of the worst venues in the Big Ten.

To their credit, they did list the stats from that regular season ending debacle on page 93 though.

As if anyone is really going to read 93 pages about Minnesota football.

ESPN just reported that Wisconsin will not be printing a spring guide either. Would save them around $200,000.
  • BBB
Rumor has it that Michigan and Ohio State would save about $250,000 each as well.
  • How much longer until Penn State follows the trend? Or since they are not a part of the Big Ten philosophically, maybe they put together a BIGGER media guide!
  • And now Ohio State and Michigan are saying they are going to stop printing media guides all together (though there will be some form of digital media I would guess).
  • It's probably for the best. The guides look great, a nice keepsake and all, but who honestly reads through 400+ pages of football statistics especially when its a school like Minnesota, Indiana or Purdue.
