Penn State Countdown: 77

On first down, Michael Haynes chases down Nebraska quarterback Jamaal Lord where the ball slips out of his hand before he even had the chance to throw it. Michael Haynes recovers the fumble and races into the endzone for what should have been a fumble returned for a touchdown. That was until the referees ruled it as an incomplete pass in spite of replays clearly showing the football slipping out before Lord could attempt to throw it. (Instant replay to overturn calls was not implemented yet)

And as if the football gods were exacting their revenge on the botched call 2 plays earlier, Richard Gardner picks off a bad Jamaal Lord pass on third down racing down the sidelines for a pick-6 sending the record Beaver Stadium crowd into pure delirious under the lights.
