Two for the price of one: DaQuan Jones Commits
Jones is one of a group of Penn State recruiting prospects, which includes Hailes, State College wide receiver Alex Kenney, Michigan QB Robert Bolden, who are currently on campus for Penn State’s summer seniors-only camp.
Like Hailes, Jones is one big boy, tipping the scales at 300 pounds on his 6’4 frame. Scout.com ranks Jones as the #8 DT in his class, and awards him 4 stars. Rivals rates Jones as a three-star prospect, ranking him as the 14th best player at his position. ESPN grades Jones as a 77, but thinks he might have a future on the other side of the ball:
This is an aggressive tough run blocker who looks for 2nd defenders downfield and finishes blocks with authority. Have yet to see him in pass protection; will need work but displays enough balance, agility and flexibility to make us feel he can succeed in this area.
If Penn State can land Sharrif Floyd, a top ranked defensive tackle in this class, it might well force Jones to that spot. Either way, Jones is yet another promising prospect to pick Penn State this recruiting season.
Jones held offers from Boston College, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Maryland, Syracuse, and Rutgers. He becomes the 10th member of the Class of 2010, 9 of which are rated as a 4-star or better prospect on either Scout or Rivals.
As Charlie said earlier, this class is going to be scary good by the time it’s all done. Kudos to the coaching staff for getting the players they target, and for doing it early in the year. If players are going to play for Penn State, they’d better commit soon, before the available scholarships run out. It’s pretty amazing what some sustained success can do for you.
CUE THE DANCING MONKEY!

Wooo Hooo! Forget Big Ten championships, if we're already consistently competing for the national title, imagine the possibilities with classes like this one.
another one picks Penn State instead of Pitt or Rutgers. So much for getting just leftovers.
