Penn State Countdown: 67

Had pass interference been called on the exact same play with the players’ jerseys reversed, it would have possibly gone down as one of the worst officiating calls in Nittany Lion lore. Luck it seemed, favored the team from Happy Valley instead when officials threw a yellow flag on Morelli’s fourth down pass to Deon Butler that was broken up.
This, after the Gopher’s PAT on Minnesota’s offensive possession in overtime bounced off the uprights, gave Penn State a chance to steal a victory in the Metrodome.
Tony Hunt punched the ball into the endzone for Penn State before Kevin Kelly made the PAT to give Penn State a 28-27 overtime victory.

I remember thinking the moment the flag was thrown: “Wow, we totally got a gift from the refs.” Definitely one of the “uglier” wins we've pulled off in recent memory.
