Penn State Countdown: 59

Adam Taliaferro walks out into Beaver Stadium to a standing ovation.

Considering what happened in Ohio Stadium in 2000, it was simply a miracle. Adam Taliaferro, then a freshman defensive back, was knocked unconscious while trying to make a tackle late in a blowout loss at Ohio Stadium. Taliaferro was taken off the field in an immobilizing stretcher as his fellow teammates held hands in prayer.

When play resumed, Ohio State broke its huddle and completed a pass on fourth-and-6 to set up its final touchdown while it was leading 38-6 with 1:35 left to play.

It is fitting to note however that John Cooper, the head coach of the Buckeyes at the time of this game was dismissed at the end of the 2000 season.
