"Perhaps what they should do is a dollar dog first half days for students. Maybe then the student section would be filled before half time for the 'below the radar' games."

No worries about that on Saturday! The students won't be hungry (nor sober!) by kickoff!

In case you didn't realize, I was joking about dollar dog days.

Yes, dollar dog days are designed to pack seats. Perhaps what they should do is a dollar dog first half days for students. Maybe then the student section would be filled before half time for the "below the radar" games.

Damn! I always miss the good years! Hahaha. Yea the year I actually attended a basketball game was when they had 1 win in the Big Ten (over Northwestern) and the athletic department played up the $5 hotdog night as a way to lure students to the game. Oh the good ol days.

True. Wouldn't it be great when students can finally enjoy $1 hotdogs. I remember going to a game at the Bryce Jordan Center back when PSU basketball sucked, and the athletic department thought $5 hotdogs were a great bargain. For PSU basketball, they might want to try 25 cent hotdogs.

"Dollar Dog Days seem to work at Phillies games. I wouldn’t mind seeing that at Beaver Stadium! Everybody flocks to cheap hot dogs."

But isn't that a way to pack the stadium? Selling tickets doesn't seem to be much of an issue at Beaver Stadium. And isn't there a fundamental difference between a baseball game and a football game in terms of tailgating?
