Charlie Weis out at Notre Dame, Bobby Bowden next?
It really was inevitbale and perhaps the world’s worst kept secret in college football. Whenever Notre Dame has been mentioned in the past few weeks the number one topic has been when Weis would be cut loose. As the losses piled up like dirty dishes on Thanksgiving, the heat on Weis’ coaching position reached record highs.
Weis was 1-1 against Penn State, winning once at home with the incomparable Brady Quinn at quarterback. But in the second game of the series, in which the wonderful pre-season Heisman winner every year Jimmy Clausen making his first collegiate start, we all know what happened…
So long Charlie! Enjoy the coaches booth in Kansas City as the offensive coordinator!
Tomorrow the announcement should be made official. Also of note tomorrow will be the decision on what happens with Florida State’s Bobby Bowden. It was announced today that Bowden is the lone man who will make the ultimate decision and that decision should be announced on Tuesday.
Will he be fired forced to resign retire or will he be back for the 2010 football season?

It about freaking time. Irish fans should be disgusted and ashamed of their programs tolerance of Charlie Weis for this long after how they treated Ty W. Good riddence to one of the most arrogant member of collegiate football. Remember faking a punt on Joe paterno late in the game when up by at least 2 scores? Karmas a bitch u can't eat Charlie.
Anyone remember this gem by Lou Holtz before the season started? http://nittanywhiteout.com/2009/08/24/lou-holtz...
If you look up the word senile in the dictionary, there's gotta be a picture of Holtz somewhere. Wonder if ESPN should hire Charlie Weis to sit alongside Mark May and Lou Holtz as the washed up college football crew. Just imagine all the in-depth analysis we would be able to hear from those three all stars.
Sources at ESPN report Bobby Bowden will announce he is retiring! http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=470...
