Jordan Kerner joins the Blue and White

After a bit of hyperventilating and a sense of impending panic for Penn State fans, the coaching staff has secured their 3rd recruit for the Class of 2011 when Fairview, Pa., defensive end Jordan Kerner committed to the Blue and White. His verbal marks the 2nd verbal in less than a week, 3rd overall after spending much of the offseason with just 1 committed recruit.

This should really come as no surprise however considering the limited number of scholarships Penn State has available for the Class of 2011 f0llowing the blockbuster conference-leading recruiting class last season. Jordan Kerner’s commitment leaves the coaching staff with even fewer spots remaining for the 2011 Class.

Listed at 6’5″, 225 lbs, Kerner also holds a 3.81 GPA through the end of his sophomore year making him a great addition to the Nittany Lions. At the time of his commitment, the 3 star recruit held full scholarship offers from Maryland, Boston College, Rutgers, West Virginia, Iowa and Minnesota. He eventually narrowed down his finalists to just Iowa and Penn State before selecting the Nittany Lions.

Welcome to the Penn State family Jordan Kerner!
