McGregor outlasts Diaz in Epic 5 Round UFC 202 Slugfest

Canelo Alvarez

Now, the sports world is waiting on what's next for McGregor.

"If you want this trilogy, it's on my terms", he said after the win. "I mean, how can they do that?" But, look, whatever they see, they see. (Expletive) is about to hit the fan here.

UFC 202 was an unbelievable fight card full of incredible fights.

But it might not happen right away.

But some leading MMA experts, including a number of McGregor's fellow fighters, didn't have the same numbers.

"I proved the class difference but that toughness and durability crept in the later rounds", said McGregor.

A reporter asked McGregor how he felt about facing Aldo next at 145 pounds. What White says usually goes. Aldo beat Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 in July to claim the interim title.

During and after the fight, social media was blowing up with calls for McGregor-Diaz 3.

McGregor gets his vengeance.

"I dropped him in the third round but then he started loading up". "I don't know. I've got to sit down and see what's next".

After McGregor was submitted by Diaz in March, he campaigned hard for a rematch, and the promotion granted his wish.

Conor McGregor got his revenge at UFC 202, and he made a lot of money doing it. McGregor made a new UFC record $3 million disclosed purse for his fight against Nate Diaz.

Diaz came close to finishing it in the third but McGregor somehow stayed on his feet despite a series of heavy blows.

Diaz, naturally the heavier of the two, grew as the fight ebbed towards its climax and went for the takedown in the fifth and final round, although the sounding of the bell left no time for the Stockton-native to exploit his dominant position.

A fight against McGregor would easily be the biggest of Alvarez's career, and he would nearly certainly welcome the challenge, as well as the payday.

Jake Shields is Nate Diaz's teammate, so naturally he believes that his guy pulled the fight out.

"All I know is it's 1-1", said McGregor.
