"President Trump, for instance, when President Duterte called him up to congratulate him, had already indicated that he was coming in November", Paynor said in a press conference in Malacañang.

On April 29, he said, all the 10 leaders of the ASEAN nations will convene at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and a "retreat" session at the Coconut Palace, next to PICC. "But it's sometime in early May", Bolivar said, adding that the meeting is confirmed but the details are still being worked out.

"We usually expect 100 percent attendance", Paynor told reporters, when sought for confirmation on Trump's attendance on Asean summit later this year.

According to Malacañang's chief protocol officer Ambassador Marciano Paynor, Trump made the confirmation during his earlier phone call with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte past year. This will be the first time the two leaders will meet, in case Trump accepts Duterte's invitation.

According to Paynor, Widodo's visit will be in reciprocation to the state visit of Duterte to Indonesia last September.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei will visit the Philippines and have bilateral meetings with President Rodrigo Duterte in April.

The DFA official said Philippine trade is also expected to improve, as ASEAN members discuss various issues including trade, as well as people-to-people exchanges, cultural exchanges, educational cooperation and security cooperation.

Paynor said Asean's committee on security is preparing to ensure "zero incident" during the 30th Asean summit in Manila.

The Philippines will host the ASEAN meetings with dialogue partners in November.

All 10 Asean leaders would then have the actual summit on April 29.

Marciano Paynor, ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council director-general for Operations, said Bolkiah will pay a state visit to the Philippines on April 27 and Widodo will make a state visit to the Philippines on April 28.
