Hackers Reportedly Demand Ransom For Stolen Copy of Upcoming Disney Film

Lamar Ellis | 16 May, 2017, 06:44

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that a group of hackers are claiming to have stolen an upcoming Disney film.

Needless to say, the king of Disney's castle is refusing to pay the demanded ransom. Also, Iger says Disney is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to try and expose the digital Jack Sparrow behind this act of piracy, but he didn't offer any details beyond that.

Iger's response? Basically... "Come at me".

He had just told ABC employees in a town hall meeting in NY on Monday that the situation was occurring. Iger, who didn't disclose the name of the film, confirmed that Disney won't give in to the demands.

Disney was not immediately available for comment.
