Australian Woman Stabbed In Throat During London Bridge Attack

Christy Curtis | 06 June, 2017, 05:34

Authorities hold grave fears for an Australian woman missing since Saturday's terror attack in London which saw seven people killed and dozens injured.

21-year-old Sara Zelenak became separated from her friends on London Bridge on Saturday night, which was the scene of the horrific van plough assault.

"I believe (May) is calling on the voices of moderate Islam to be far louder than the voices of extremism, savagery and brutality, and we most certainly need to see that in our country as well", Bishop said on Monday.

Her stepdad, Mark Wallace, told The Telegraph that the family has received no information in the past 48 hours from British authorities - and her mom, Julie, was heading over to the United Kingdom to join the search.

"I feel bad, I can't think", News Corp reporting him saying.

"Authorities in London can't give any information, they are in a terror lock down, so there's just no ability to find out or get any information".

One of the three attackers who killed seven people near London Bridge on Saturday night United Kingdom time was previously investigated by British security services but had not been viewed as a serious threat, British police said.

Australian au pair Sara Zelenak did not answer calls immediately after the London terror attack and has not been heard from.

Hot Weekend Weather on the Way
The weather should be mostly dry during the morning hours with rain and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon/evening. So if you are thinking of trying to plan outdoor activities this weekend, Saturday looks to be the day to set them up.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Zelenak's family during their search.

Australian consular staff are now working to try and locate her.

Ms Hedge, 34, working as a waitress in the Borough Markets area, underwent emergency surgery but is expected to make a full recovery after her attackers missed her windpipe and arteries. "I ran thinking she would be running with me but I looked back and she wasn't there".

She posted on social media: "Hey everyone, just so you know im doing ok".

Mr Morrison is on his way home and due to land on Tuesday after receiving stitches for a stab wound he received while leaving a bar after watching the Champions League soccer final. "I've got no idea... no mask", Andrew said.

The comment on the killings - which left seven dead and 48 wounded, including two Australians on Saturday night - is not thought to have referred to the number of takes or times the Australian Government has had to weigh in but rather the minister's frustration at the worrying rise in terror attacks in England and Australia.

Our thoughts are with those killed and injured in these horrifying attacks, and we will bring more details as they come in.
