Alvaro Morata is one of the rare academy players of Real Madrid to get a regular spot in the first-team setup at Bernabeu, after he was bought back by the club from Juventus, where he produced exhilarating performances.

Real Madrid were rocked by widespread claims in the media on Friday that Ronaldo wants to leave the Spanish capital in the summer.

After it was reported that Antonio Conte text Diego Costa earlier this month to inform him that he no longer needed his services heading into next season, speculation has been rife as to who will replace the commanding forward.

Italian paper Tuttosport have crossed worldwide divides on Sunday, splashing their front page with a story about how Man United are attempting to sign two stars from Real Madrid.

The players in question are Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata, the former being heavily linked with an exit from Spain this week, while Alvaro Morata has been said to be on the verge of a move to Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

United had been favourites to sign the Spain worldwide, with a £65m deal appearing close to completion last week.

The reports say that Roman Abramovich has given his nod to the Board for a £70 million move to land the 24-year-old, which will come as a huge blow to United's plans of securing the striker. Chelsea's current situation with Conte might see United edge the Blues to Morata.

Where could Alvaro Morata go next?

The 24-year-old told the Guardian in April: "Various Premier League coaches called to tell me to play for them".
