Griezmann, though, took to social media on Friday evening to reject those stories while admitting his future was uncertain.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo hinted star forward Antoine Griezmann would remain at the LaLiga club next season.

Speaking of a potential move, fans are excited at the prospect of having Griezmann in a United shirt. "He is a very important player for us, we know the quality he has, but the most important thing is not the players, it is the club, Atletico Madrid, that is above all".

According to Spanish journalist Antonio Ruiz, Griezmann has notified the club's hierarchy that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Griezmann then fuelled the speculation by saying on French TV that there was a 6/10 chance he would move to Old Trafford this summer with the decision believed to hinge on United qualifying for the Champions League.

Pogba and Griezmann are good pals and the latter has admitted he would like to play alongside his France team-mate at club level one day.

"My future will be decided on this summer", Griezmann said during an interview with Cero.

Manchester United are said to be in pole position to acquire the services of the striker but they will have to break the bank yet again as Griezmann's release clause stands at a whooping €100m. We will see what happens.

Jose Mourinho who is looking to strengthen his squad, and has already shown his willingness to sign the 26-year old, but has also admitted he doesn't know if the deal will pull through. It is in the hands of the president of the club.

"As I said, I'm happy here, I've talked to my coach, Koke and Godin".

"If he decides to leave we top strikers like Angel Correa, Fernando Torres, Kevin Gameiro and Yannick Carrasco who can fill in his spot". "With two extraterrestrials like Cristiano and Messi the Ballon d'Or is hard, I would be happy to be within the top three".
