The accused confessed before police that it was on May 29 late night when they were consuming alcohol and spotted the woman going with her daughter in her arm. "Police questioned many auto drivers and checked the CCTV footages but failed to identify the accused till Wednesday morning" said an official.
Unwilling to give up, the young mother picked up her baby, got on to a Delhi Metro with the lifeless body to take her to a hospital in Delhi and later returned to the MG Road Metro Station, on Gurgaon's glittering Mall Mile, where her husband was waiting.
Two of the accused were arrested on Wednesday.
Earlier today, the police had released sketches of the three accused in a case of gang rape of a woman and murder of her infant daughter.
Khirwar said that baby died due to her head injuries.
As the victim was concerned about the condition of her daughter she did not reveal that she was raped until later. They first drove towards her parents' village, but suddenly took a U-turn and changed the route.
The incident took place on May 22 evening when the woman was returning home from a health clinic, along with her husband.

As per reports, it was only later during the day that the woman informed her family about her rape.
The police also reportedly did not register an FIR of gangrape initially but included the charge five days after the incident. We have suspended the lady sub-inspector and are conducting a departmental inquiry against her. After hearing the confession of one of the accused, Sarpanch Jitender Chauhan called ACP Dharamvir Singh, who has been tasked to lead the Special Investigative Team (SIT) formed to look into the case.
