In the Parom area of Panjgur district, the Iranian aircraft was reported to have entered "deep inside Pakistani airspace" on a spying mission.

A Pakistan Air Force fighter jet has shot down an unmanned Iranian drone in Balochistan, The Associated Press reported while quoting unnamed Pakistani officials.

Coalition forces shot down a similar pro-regime drone near the same location earlier this month, U.S. Central Command said in a statement.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down an Iranian spy drone in Balochistan on weekend, Pakistantribw.com reported.

Zakaria also said Pakistani authorities have shared the information with Iran about striking down the drone.

This was the second Iranian drone to be shot down as in the past, the United States had downed an Iranian drone in Syria.

Pakistan officials lodged a strong protest with the Iranian border officials and a flag-meeting has been called on Tuesday to resolve the matter as this is the third such violation in recent weeks.

Earlier, the Iranian security border forces had fired several unprovoked mortar shelling into Pakistan territory on Sunday.
