Republicans, Democrats Play Ball for 'Team Scalise'

Mr Scalise was shot as he fielded at second base during practice for an annual Republicans-Democrats baseball game. This is a game that's been going on for over a hundred years. And of course this year is different.

Scalise, 51, was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center suffering from a single rifle shot to the left hip.

"I know that he would want the game to be played", said Richmond.

With Thursday's game, Democrats have won 40 of the contests over the years.
