Former U.S. men's national soccer team coach Bob Bradley will be formally introduced to the public Friday as the inaugural coach of the expansion Los Angeles Football Club, which will begin play in a new arena in Exposition Park in 2018.
Not only was Bradley the first of his countrymen to manage in the Premier League, but he's also taken charge of not one but two different countries - United States of America and Egypt - along with spells in France, Norway, and the MLS.
Bradley served as an assistant under Bruce Arena for the DC United teams that won the MLS Cup in 1996 and 1997 and was hired as head coach of the Chicago Fire for their debut season in 1998. He had always been rumored to be a target of the deep-pocketed LAFC ownership group, which hopes to make an immediate MLS splash when it enters the nation's second-largest market to compete with the LA Galaxy, the five-time MLS Cup champions.

For Bradley, who was at the helm of the US team that advanced to the knockout stage of the 2010 World Cup, it marks a return to MLS after previously coaching Chicago Fire, MetroStars and Chivas USA.
News that Bradley is headed to LAFC comes shortly after the new club's future rival, the LA Galaxy, announced the firing of coach Curt Onalfo and replaced him with former Galaxy, Seattle Sounders and Columbus Crew coach Sigi Schmid. He left Chivas and MLS in 2006 to take over the USA team.
