The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana, southwest MI and northwest OH through late Wednesday night.

"A slow moving front hanging across NY and Pennsylvania will keep showers and thunderstorms in the forecast through Friday; some of these storms will be strong with very heavy rain and gusty winds", the National Weather Service said.

The weather service posted a flash flood watch through 11 a.m. Thursday for all of Western New York.

Residents in and around Chicago woke up Wednesday to significant flooding in areas.

Showers and thunderstorms are moved across the region this morning. Many areas will see more than an inch of rain through this evening, leading to isolated areas of flooding.

There is also a flash flood watch for much of the area which extends into Friday afternoon.

In Madison on Wednesday, there's a 90 percent chance for showers and storms that could produce heavy rain, with a high near 85 and southwest winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Amtrak did not say when restoration of service was expected.

At 9:46 a.m., Weather Service Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Rain will continue overnight and into Thursday before high pressure can get in here to dry us up for while.

Additional thunderstorms are expected to develop Wednesday night.
