As reported, Ivanka Trump, who's also the president's special assistant, arrived at the summit with her father.

Ivanka Trump has sat down before with world leaders since her father assumed.

Following criticism from ethics experts, Ivanka was officially appointed as an unpaid advisor to her father in the White House, alongside her husband, in March this year.

On Saturday, during a meeting of heads of states and governments, Ivanka Trump suddenly appeared, to fill in for her father, the USA president, at the negotiating table.

Yep, that would appear be Ivanka Trump sitting between UK Prime Minister Theresa May and Chinese President Xi Jinping, taking part in talks about the future of the world as we know it.

Ivanka, who has not been elected to public office or worked in the USA government before, has been attending the summit in Hamburg, Germany, as an unpaid adviser to her father concerning women's empowerment and workplace development issues. The official who posted the photo later deleted her tweet.

A White House official confirmed Ivanka Trump sat in for Mr. Trump when the president of the World Bank began addressing the session.

Photos from the room show Ivanka Trump - along with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin - seated rows behind the President during the portion of the meeting he attended.

USA trade deficit narrows as exports hit two-year high
For example, imports sometimes rise when the US economy is doing well and Americans can better afford products from overseas . The U.S. trade deficit with China is also running ahead of last year's pace while the gap with Germany is roughly the same.

Amy Siskind, president and co-founder of The New Agenda, a women's rights organisation, tweeted: "This kind of thing happens all the time".

A spokesman for Ivanka Trump told Bloomberg that she had been sitting in the back of the room and joined the table when the president stepped out.

A point supported by lefty favorite, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who said she had no issues with it.

Following the incident, she said: "I understand why he has to do this-to prove he's a man".

Regardless of how world leaders feel about Trump himself, Ivanka's proximity does in fact garner her visible privilege. Trump herself has claimed she doesn't want to be involved in politics.

Trump said he'd been proud of her since "day one, " and offered a rare, self-deprecating assessment of the challenges he's added to her life.

It's also not Ivanka's first appearance at a G20 event.
