Arpaio Welcomes a Presidential Pardon But Is Not Asking

Arpaio Welcomes a Presidential Pardon But Is Not Asking Arpaio Welcomes a Presidential Pardon But Is Not Asking

"He's a fascist, so not unusual", tweeted Mike Holden, referring to the 45th president.

Arpaio, a vocal supporter of Trump, was found guilty two weeks ago of denying a judge's orders to cease traffic stops that aimed to find potential undocumented immigrants.

The first accidental retweet was not as damning as the second but still freaky in its own right as it was of a response to a Fox & Friends story about Trump pardoning former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

"President Trump would be literally pardoning Joe Arpaio's flagrant violation of federal court orders that prohibited the illegal detention of Latinos". Recent comments from the President seem to indicate Trump hasn't forgotten his loyalty. "I am seriously thinking about it".

A 2009 Phoenix New Times article reported "Neo-Nazis and Extreme Right-Wingers Love Joe Arpaio". Arpaio, like Trump, was one of the biggest propagators of the false claim that former President Barack Obama's birth certificate was fake.

And Trump said of Arpaio: "This is a man, when we talk about borders, this is a man that believes in borders".

Arpaio was also known for using the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department to supplement federal immigration enforcement efforts, earning him the adoration of white supremacists and anti-immigrant groups across the United States.

Liverpool deny claims that Philippe Coutinho has handed in a transfer request
However, that has all changed once again now that Coutinho has made clear his desire to move on with an official request. Barcelona have had two offers for Coutinho rejected by Liverpool , the most recent reported to be worth €100m.

The post was re-tweeted by Trump and swiftly deleted moments later - but it did not go unnoticed among some of his 36 million followers.

The sheriff ignored the judge's order and kept up the patrols for another 17 months.

'I might do it right away, maybe early this week, ' Trump said.

Trump said the pardon could happen in the next few days, should he decide to do so. "In politics, there is hypocrisy on many sides, but the White House's praise of Arpaio as it tries to extricate itself from equivocal statements about the clear domestic hate-based terrorism in Charlottesville will forever stand out as record-breaking, political disingenuousness".

Trump then shared the tweet. Jerome Corsi of conspiracy theory outlet Infowars wrote that Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions "must help Sheriff Arpaio", calling the trial a "travesty of justice" and asking whether Trump and Sessions would "continue to stand by watching".

America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff" might be getting some presidential help with his legal troubles.
