The Department of Justice announced the appointment of Mueller to oversee the federal investigation into Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 election on May 17.

It's expanding, both in size and scope.

Do you think Robert Mueller sees it that way? Trump will be asking "Define obstruction", and declaring "I'm not a dictator and I never had collusion relations with that Russian". And the more we learn about them, the deeper they seem.

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway said during the weekend that the Trump administration has made clear it will cooperate with Mueller's investigation into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

As the Wall Street Journal reported, they've set up a grand jury, which can subpoena witnesses and documents and, if need be, indict people. Yes, it is possible. -Democrat bickering that has filled many TV hours.

But implicit in that statement: It's a normal process of any serious investigation.

Christie said it was not yet clear whether Trump had known about the meeting, which took place in Trump Tower and included his son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

"He plans on being a two-term president", Conway said, adding: "Republican consultants and people trying to play the parlor game".

"This story has persisted because the White House and the president's surrogates have told conflicting stories", Stephanopoulos said.

It's yet another example of Congress putting its faith somewhere besides with Trump. And Mueller has impaneled a Washington-based grand jury, whose job ultimately may be to decide if there's probable cause to bring indictments against subjects of the investigation, if Mueller seeks them.

Emails revealed that Trump Jr. was excited about the June 2016 meeting and welcomed a chance to get damaging information on his father's opponent.

And then you have former campaign aides Paul Manafort, Carter Page and Michael Flynn, all of whom have done business with and have connections in Russian Federation. Attorney Gen. Jeff Sessions had already recused himself from the investigation.

"That is complete fiction, complete fabrication", she said.

Mr. Trump repeatedly has blasted the investigation as a "witch hunt", but Mr. Tillis disagreed. Even the most cynical person has to acknowledge that would be an extraordinary conspiracy the likes of which the United States has never seen. "What is this investigation really about?"

The Trump White House may have new discipline, thanks to Chief of Staff John Kelly. "There's no question that it is because clearly, the date that we've made the bill retroactive to", he told "Fox News Sunday".
