Two Hamas terror targets were attacked by the IDF early Wednesday morning after a rocket that was sacked from Gaza landed in southern Israel. The rocket hit an open field in the regional council of Hof Ashkelon in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage.

According to Palestinian media, one of the strikes targeted the refugee camp of al-Shati, home to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Israel and Hamas have fought three wars since 2008. No casualties or damage were reported, however.

"Some time ago a shell hit an open area in the district (city ed.) Ashkelon". Three injuries were reported، one of them critical، due to a fracture in the skull.

Israeli warplanes launched a number of air strikes targeting Hamas military positions in west of Gaza and the northern Gaza Strip late last night.

Israel seeks to kick out Al Jazeera
He has frequently criticised the news media, accusing outlets of seeking to undermine his government. However, Al Jazeera has denied such allegations and said that it is an independent media agency.

Israel, however, has blamed the islamist Hamas movement, which controls the palestinian enclave, and bombard usually the bases of its military wing in retaliation.

The firing of projectiles from the Gaza strip are rarely claimed and are attributed to radical palestinian groups.

"The fourth person, a 26-year-old, is in serious condition".

On Tuesday evening, warning sirens blared in southern Israel as the rocket from the Gaza Strip was sacked into the country.
