President Robert Mugabe has left for Tehran, to attend the swearing in ceremony of Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani on Saturday.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's inauguration ceremony kicked off on Saturday evening before Majlis (parliament) lawmakers, foreign dignitaries and senior Iranian politicians, IRNA Iranian news agency reports.

On July 14, 2015, Iran and China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Tehran's nuclear program.

South Korea's parliamentary leader has said North Korea should take cues from Iran and return to nuclear talks as he met with his Iranian counterpart in Tehran. "Now in Iran, there is a growing debate if these sanctions violate [the nuclear deal] or not".

Iran's state TV reported that more than 130 high-ranking officials from various countries and global organizations attended the ceremony in Tehran.

"Overcoming unsafe threats and complicated developments in the current state of flux is not possible, except through increased contacts and interaction and establishment of dialogue with governments and nations". He has repeatedly criticized the slow pace of economic recovery since most worldwide sanctions on Iran were lifted a year ago.

Iran said Thursday that new United States sanctions were a violation of its nuclear deal with world powers, piling pressure on President Hassan Rouhani as he starts his second term.

The expected presence of the European Union (EU)'s top diplomat, High Representative Federica Mogherini, at the event is seen as a sign of the resolve of the bloc to preserve and strengthen its ties with Iran, including in the framework of the 2015 nuclear deal.

He also referred to terrorism as a common issue for all countries of the region and the world, saying: "Close, more serious cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan is essential for resolving issues such as terrorism".

Trump signed a bill Wednesday that imposes mandatory penalties on those involved in Iran's ballistic missile program and anyone who does business with them.

The runner-up, Ebrahim Raisi, secured 38.5% of the votes. "We prefer peace to war and reform to rigidness", said Rouhani. "The nuclear deal is a sign of Iran's goodwill on the worldwide stage".

Rouhani's own supporters have expressed concern over his inability to include women as ministers in his new cabinet because of pressure from religious hardliners.
