U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen says he's going to introduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

White evangelical Protestants are not enthusiastic about the idea of impeaching the president, with 79 percent saying they're against it.

Heightening the controversy that has swirled over Trump's insistence that "both sides" share the blame for the violent encounter in Charlottesville, a House Democrat is calling for impeachment.

The president, he argues, failed the "presidential test of moral leadership" by suggesting that both the white supremacists and those who oppose them were in the wrong. After receiving significant backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, Trump made another statement on August 14 in which he explicitly spoke against racism, calling it "evil".

The congressman's call to remove Mr. Trump from office comes after the president blamed the Charlottesville disruption on "both sides"- both the white supremacists leading the "Unite the Right" rally, and their counter-protesters, who Mr. Trump labeled the "alt-left".

"The Democrats, the longer they talk about identity politics, I got 'em", Bannon said in a wide-ranging conversation with the American Prospect.

"When I watched the videos from the protests in Charlottesville, it reminded me of the videos I've seen of Kristallnacht in 1938 in Nazi Germany". "No moral president would ever question the values of Americans protesting in opposition of such actions".

There was more agreement across the board on the question of whether the neo-Nazi driving the auto that killed 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injured 19 more committed an act of domestic terrorism.

Democrats had already called for Trump's impeachment after he fired FBI Director James Comey amid a deepening probe of the Trump team's ties to Russian Federation.

Articles of impeachment were also filed in mid-July by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), who argued Trump obstructed justice by interfering with the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into Russian Federation involvement in the 2016 presidential election. "Trump's efforts to obstruct the investigation of his campaign's possible collusion with Russian Federation violated the same statute". Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Rep. Maxine Waters of California and Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, have also expressed support for impeachment proceedings against Trump.
