Tillerson distances himself from Trump's Charlottesville response

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson spoke on Fox News Sunday saying the nation’s commitment to fighting racial injustice was unquestioned Tillerson distances himself from Trump's Charlottesville response

Just a couple days after National Economic Director Gary Cohn publicly voiced discomfort with President Donald Trump's response to the Charlottesville white supremacist demonstrations and admitted he felt pressure to resign, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has made some cryptic statements of his own about the commander-in-chief, implying that Trump's personal values are at-odds with those of the U.S.

"We express America's values from the State Department".

The secretary of state reiterated the State Department's commitment to American values on Sunday, pointing to a speech he gave on August 18 in which Tillerson declared racism "is antithetical to America's values".

"And the President's values?" anchor Chris Wallace asked.

The Aug. 13 protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, began as a rally organized by white supremacists and turned deadly when a counter-protester was run down by a vehicle.

Tillerson said on "Fox News Sunday" that the United States was committed to freedom and "equal treatment of people the world over" when posed the question by anchor Chris Wallace.

A United Nations committee last week criticized Trump for what it deemed his failure to fully condemn hatred and bigotry in the wake of deadly violence at a white supremacist march in Charlottesville earlier this month.

According to Pulse readers, Bran, Jon Snow , Daenerys , Jamie, The Hound , Ser Davos and Melisandre are the safest characters. Questions have also been asked about how seriously HBO have taken their netork security in recent weeks as well .

"It's simply important to say - although I think it's well understood and embraced, I'm certain, by everyone in this room - we all know hate is not an American value, nowhere is it an American value", the top U.S. diplomat said.

Trump's response earned a condemnation from almost everyone who is not an outright white supremacist, including the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which stated that Trump's refusal to lay the blame exclusively at the feet of the self-identified white nationalists was a "failure at the highest political level".

Wallace asked Tillerson whether Trump's words in recent weeks had made it more hard to promote American values overseas.

Wallace asked him if he's "separating" himself from that.

The secretary of state's reaction, however, is more surprising as he's a member of Trump's cabinet, not a voice from the opposing political party.

Tillerson replied, "I've spoken".

The Administration "must do better in consistently and unequivocally condemning these groups", Cohn, who is Jewish, said.
