The best friend who donated her kidney to help treat Selena Gomez's lupus revealed her scars in an Instagram post on Friday.

Francia is back at the gym working out and the scars on her stomach from the surgery are visible. She thanked her friend Francia, "And finally, there aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my handsome friend Francia Raisa".

The pair considers each other family and Francia has been there for Selena throughout the hard times in her life, including her recent kidney transplant.

"I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process", Raisa wrote on Instagram shortly after Gomez made her post about the kidney transplant. News, Francia and #Selena Gomez first met when the pair were teenagers at a Disney and ABC Family charity event at a hospital.

"All I could do was support her. People need to know that you can live with one kidney, there are a lot of individuals that get scared to donate to people that need it because they're afraid of never again living a normal life. She says I'm her mom", Almendarez told the Spanish-language broadcaster of her daughter and Gomez.

"Happy to be back", wrote Raisa. In the post, Raisa is seen wearing only a sports bra and workout trousers, which reveals her midriff and her post-op scars.

In a separate Instagram post, Raisa opened up about her donation.

Kidney donors typically spend two days in the hospital following surgery and take four to six weeks to recover, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.
