Jane Fonda shuts down TV host for plastic surgery question

Jane Fonda brutally shuts down US TV host Megyn Kelly over plastic surgery remarks Jane Fonda Shuts Down Plastic Surgery Questions During Live Interview

29 to a rousing reception, with critics praising this fourth film pairing of Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. Trump criticized her and even called her mad.

Despite her new NBC morning show's promise to be a "fun and uplifting" experience, Kelly's debut this week has been anything but. Things got awkward when the host asked an ill-advised question about the Oscar-winner's plastic surgery over the years. ET spoke exclusively with the 45-year-old news woman back in April, and she was thrilled that the former Fox News host was joining the NBC family. "Regret going on. Dismayed by her comments", Messing wrote, according to the Los Angeles Times (the post appears to have since been deleted). Tough postmortem from the first big guests!

EW said Kelly invited a "superfan" of the comedy, Russel Turner, to meet the cast and Kelly asked, "Is it true that you became a lawyer - and you became gay - because of Will?"

Fonda appeared annoyed at the question.

"But let me tell you why I love this movie that we did, Our Souls at Night, rather than plastic surgery", she continued. "I've talked about that", she said.

"I think I've asked that question, too", Guthrie said.

One astute Twitter user observed the common ground Fonda and Messing occupied when chatting with Kelly.

In response to Kelly, Fonda credited her "good attitude, good posture", and taking care of herself as reasons for how she looks now.

Redford also chimed in about the interview with Kelly. Like Kelly's conversations with Jones and Putin, the segment did not produce the intended thought-provoking effect. Ask about her life. Her review, of course, was nothing short of glowing.

Cameraman expletives aside, Kelly did dig some part of her own clumsy grave on this morning's show. The man quickly realized his mistake and scooted back across the stage-but not before he shouted out "shit!" before exiting the camera frame. Those skewed standards will set Kelly up for more of these unfortunate incidents, and they'll mean more trouble for NBC. Though the reunion was mostly a lovely one, Fonda does have one complaint about the movie-that her love scene with Redford was not longer.
