Watford striker Richarlison prolongs Swansea City's home blues

Clement must have shared the frustrations of home fans and made two changes at half-time - abandoning the caution of his three centre-backs approach in the search for something to spark his team.

Andre Gray had earlier given the Hornets the lead in the 13th minute with his first goal for the club before substitute Tammy Abraham equalised for the Swans 10 minutes into the second half.

Brazilian forward Richarlison struck a 90th-minute victor as Watford won 2-1 at Swansea City to record three successive away wins in the English top flight for the first time.

A double substitution at half-time saw Clement bring on Tammy Abraham and Roque Mesa, and while it was the former who levelled for the Swans, the latter gave away possession in the build-up to Richarlison's 90th-minute victor.

"I was very close to making the changes before half-time", Clement said, as his side were very poor during the first 45 minutes.

"We took the initiative, had a lot more control of the game and got back in it".

Watford opened up with an unbeaten run of four games in a solid start for Silva, which included a battling 3-3 home draw with Liverpool followed by wins at Bournemouth and Southampton.

"But in that position you must make sure you do not lose the game, and when I look back at their two goals they are gifts".

But he criticised them for the second consecutive home game after Richarlison punished Alfie Mawson's timid tackle with a composed finish off the underside of the crossbar.

"We have to know that alright we might not win the game, but don't lose it, and for some reason it's very hard for us at home this season". They've come here for three games now and they've not seen their team perform well over a 90-minute period.

"It's supposed to be easier at home, but for some reason it's not at the moment". Gray, though, did not have wait long to find the net on a ground where he scored twice for Burnley last season.

It meant a quick turnaround victory for Marco Silva's side after their 6-0 thrashing at home by Manchester City last week.

"We wanted three really important points and we've got our third win away in the Premier League, which is very hard for a team like Watford".

"It is important to us that we play our game, with our ideas and philosophy and try to achieve good results".

"If we'd have scored a second we could have been a bit more confident".
