Actress Kate Winslet has rejoined her Titanic director James Cameron for his Avatar films.
Just last month we learned that Cameron had officially started production on the first of his four planned Avatar sequels. Avatar 2 will open on December 18th 2020, followed by Avatar 3 on December 17th 2021, Avatar 4 on December 20th 2024 and Avatar 5 on December 19th 2025.
Released in 2009, Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar won three Oscars and took more than $2B United States worldwide.
Cameron and Jon Landau are producing through their Lightstorm Entertainment company. Most of the cast members that will be retrieving their role would be Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, and Stephen Lang, with Game of Thrones star Oona Chaplin recently joining the cast.

In an interview with Deadline, Cameron remarked on how long he has been waiting to get a chance to do another movie with Winslet after "Titanic", which he considered a highlight of his career as a director. The 63-year-old was later nominated again for Avatar, but the sci-fi film didn't claim almost as many wins (just three, for cinematography, art direction and visual effects).
